hiring chat re spicerack 2.0
In this quick intro chat we'll discuss a bit about our upcoming project, your skillset, answer any questions you may have, and chit chat about mtg if you'd like.
A question I like to ask for you to think about:
> What is the most impressive thing you have done in your life?
This doesn't have to be related to the role or skillset at all. It can be a project you led, something you made, a crazy challenge you've overcome.
Things can be impressive by virtue of:
- scope (e.g. long complicated project)
- raw difficulty (hit challenger in league)
- speed (my answer falls into this bucket - I built turbotax for FAFSA, a long government student aid form, in 10 days, then processed 17,000 real applications for tens of millions of dollars 2 weeks after)
- work ethic required, etc

This interview will serve as either:
- live-coding to build a small app/api together
- the debrief call after handing off a take-home project
If you choose a the full take-home option, we'll send the take-home project spec 3 days ahead of time. It should take 2-3 evenings to complete, please choose a time for the debrief that allows you to work on the project for 3 days prior so you have enough time to get through it before we review.
AI coding tools are allowed in all interviews, and are encouraged!
