Bhante Dr. Chandima

Bhante Dr. Chandima received his novice ordination in 1997 and his higher ordination in 2004 in the Rohana Sect of the Syāmopāli Nikāya (Malwatta Chapter), Sri Lanka. He served as an Assistant Professor of Buddhist Philosophy in the Department of Philosophy at Ateneo de Manila University in the Philippines (2015-2016). Prior to this appointment, he served as the Theravāda Buddhist Chaplain at the University of British Columbia, Canada, and as a Research Fellow at the Centre for Studies in Religion and Society (CSRS) at the University of Victoria, Canada. His monastic preceptors were the Most Venerable Kirinde Pemaratana and the Most Venerable Urumutta Somaratana, both widely respected figures within the Sri Lankan Saṅgha community.
