Conversation class (all levels): Practice spontaneous, casual conversation with limited as-needed instruction in pronunciation, vocabulary, and grammar. May include limited homework by request; does not include Google Classroom access.

Targeted areas: Speaking, Listening, Pronunciation

*Cancellation policy: except in extreme circumstances, refunds will not be given if the student cancels within 24 hours of class time
*Late policy: please notify me ahead of time if you'll be late to our class. Classes end promptly at the scheduled time and will not run over to account for missed time. If you will be more than 15 minutes late, it will likely be better to reschedule.

Grammar class (all levels): Guided instruction following the English Grammar in Use textbook and curriculum, intended to enhance English communicative ability. Includes at least 2 hours of homework per one hour session. I use custom assignments (roleplaying scenarios, doing mock job interviews, writing blog posts, making "Powerpoint Night" presentations, and more!) that are relevant to your needs, and I give detailed feedback. This homework is NOT just assigned exercises in a textbook; if you're getting flashbacks to boring in-school teaching, think again!

By request: focus on written/academic English and its conventions.

Targeted areas (by order of priority): Reading, Writing, Listening, Speaking

Vocabulary Expansion (B1-C2)/Learn with Pictures (A1-A2): Expand vocabulary through a variety of targeted exercises and activities (reading articles and short stories, listening to podcasts, watching videos/TV shows/movies, and occasionally using textbooks). Includes ~1 hour of homework per hour-long session, adjustable per learner.

Beginners will primarily use pictures to learn basic vocabulary and descriptions.

Optional: instruction on how to use (and maximize vocabulary acquisition with) Anki, a spaced repetition flash card software.

Targeted areas: Speaking, Listening, Reading

Business & Professional English (B1-C2): Practice vocabulary and grammar for business, professional, and academic (graduate school/research/laboratory environment) contexts. Emphasis on role-play of scenarios (mock interviews, small talk with work colleagues, running a work meeting, giving presentations, etc.). Includes 1-3 hours of homework per hour-long session, adjustable per learner.

Targeted areas: Reading, Writing, Listening, Speaking

Test Preparation (all levels; TOEFL/IELTS/TOEIC): Targeted practice for TOEFL/IELTS/TOEIC exams, complete with practice exams, vocabulary expansion, grammar instruction/review, and speaking practice. Includes at least 2 hours of homework per one hour session.

Targeted areas: Test-taking, the 4 Core Skills (Reading, Writing, Listening, Speaking)

TPRS/Comprehensible Input - learn with teacher-led stories! (A1-B1): Learn English/Spanish as I walk you through customized, engaging stories - minimal formal instruction, lots of vocabulary, speak and understand English/Spanish from day 1! Great for absolute beginners, youths, pairs, and groups of 3-10.

Comes with 30-min storytelling + 30-min in-depth story review, with limited homework upon request. Currently available for native speakers of English, Spanish, or Korean only.

Pronunciation Training/Accent Reduction (all levels): Improve your pronunciation and reduce your accent through use of minimal pairs, read-aloud sessions, shadowing, and speech recording/playback. Led by a linguist specializing in phonetics and phonology (the sciences of pronunciation)!

Targeted areas: Pronunciation, Speaking
