Basic Wheel Throwing and Glazing Essentials
240 min meeting with studio.GDMC & Goodman over 71 Ubi Crescent, #01 02 Excalibur Centre, Singapore 408571, Singapore. Pre-requisite: 2-hour Wheel Throwing (Culture Pass) An intensive two-session programme. Session 1 (4 hours): studio equipment and use, reclaiming clay, wedging techniques, the four stages of wheel throwing, basic trimming for the base of the pot, the drying cabinet for same-day trimming, and good studio habits. Session 2 (3 hours): understanding glaze types (transparent, translucent, opaque) and choosing glazes to enhance your pot, reading viscosity and preparing glazes, preparing your bisque work, brush-on and dip glazing techniques, practical tips, and the theory of heat for firing your works. Course fees S$200 — on completion, you'll be eligible for studio membership. One booking reserves one place in both sessions of the selected workshop. Lesson 1 (Basic Wheel Throwing) runs 9:00 AM–1:00 PM on the first listed date; Lesson 2 (Glazing Essentials) runs 9:00 AM–12:00 PM on the second listed date. Times are Singapore time.
