5-Weeks-Poems in Clay—$250.00 per Student
90 min meeting with Harrison Cook over 2729 N 62nd St, Omaha, NE 68104, USA. Part writing class, part clay class, students will investigate small poems and the fragment to properly adorn their own hand-built, functional vessels. Master of the Micro scale like Anne Carson, Emily Dickinson, Franz Kafka and interdisciplinary artists like Corita Kent, Kelly Hoofer, and more will be our where we examine the power of succinctness or how Carson puts it “error gardens” on our hand-made, 3-d functional poems. Studetns will make a cup, a tall vessel, and a wall tile featuring their writing. We will also apply colorant using a technique called Terra Sigallata to make our pieces POP. A Future Artifact Notebook will also be given, so students can continue writing outside of the classroom. Classes run for 5 weeks total and continute on the same time slot and day selected at sign up. Please indicate which class you are signing up for in your initial email.
