Keith Mauppa
Keith Mauppa is a Senior Programs Manager at the NYU Leslie Entrepreneurial Institute, where he leads Startup Coaching and the Tech Venture Workshop — NYU’s flagship program supporting faculty & researchers commercializing their research. His work sits at the intersection of entrepreneurship, venture development, and innovation strategy, with a focus on helping founders translate emerging technologies into scalable ventures.
Prior to NYU, Keith served as COO & VC Principal at Flat World Partners, an impact-focused investment and advisory firm, where he helped scale the organization from inception into a global investment platform. Across his career spanning venture capital, private equity, asset management, and management consulting, he has led or supported the execution of more than 90 private market transactions across four continents.
Keith is passionate about entrepreneurship, innovation ecosystems, and data-driven operational strategy. At NYU, he oversees programs supporting hundreds of startups annually and has built analytics and reporting systems that help drive institutional decision-making and venture outcomes.
Originally from Zimbabwe and South Africa 🇿🇼🇿🇦 and now based in New York 🇺🇸, Keith holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Economics & Politics from the University of Cape Town and earned his MBA on scholarship from Hult International Business School in 2014.
