Matt Dell

Spanning 25 years, Matt Dell has dedicated his life to music. Spending the first 15 years of his career as a singer/songwriter and achieving great accolades like Niagara's Singer/Songwriter of the year in 2011, top 10 finalist for 97.7 HITZ FM's "Rock Search" competition, top 20 finalist for 102.1 The Edge's "Next Big Thing" competition, and receiving radio play across North America on both indie and mainstream air waves.

As a vocal instructor for the past 10 years, Matt’s passion has always been helping others learn and grow as artists. With a curiosity for how things work, Matt has spent many years studying vocology (the study of the voice) in order to help his clients understand their own instrument and aims to strengthen their voice and gain ultimate control for ideal sound and physical longevity.

His approach to teaching uses vocal pedagogy to help students better understand how the voice works, how their voice is currently working for them, and how to make it work more efficiently for both beginners and professionals alike.

Specializing in distortion mechanics, Matt works with artists in the rock, punk, emo, and metal genres which includes bands like Seaway, Bearings, and Cam Kahin. Early in his career as a voice teacher, Matt recognized that singers in these genres commonly experienced vocal injury and/or fatigue when screaming or singing with distortion. In order to help his clients strengthen their voice and avoid future risk, Matt delved deeper into the biomechanical science behind how the voice functions studying vocal pedagogy and receiving certifications in Evidence Based Voicework from Maddie Tarbox Vocal School (Voice Faculty at Shenandoah University) and MVP Masterclass For Voice Professionals with Melanie Tapson.

Matt has also worked with professionals in other fields like public speaking, confidence-building through improv comedy, songwriting, and navigating the music industry. Matt has had the privilege of working with many notable clients such as Dine Alone Records, Pure Noise Records, Capital One, and actors like Stranger Things actor Dacre Montgomery and MJ The Musical actor Johnny Bishop.
