Hey there, I'm Joshua Burman! I'm a Routesetter, Coach, Certified Personal Trainer, and Climber that has been in the industry for 10+ years. I offer comprehensive climbing and fitness oriented coaching and training for busy, complicated people, provided by a climber that's also busy and complicated!
It's hard to fit it all in after a long work day, dealing with kids, managing injury, or any number of other things that can make it difficult for us to work towards our goals.
Many things can get it the way, so I wanted to offer a service to help facilitate your goals. That could be achieving the first of a grade, getting fit for a climbing trip, or just wanting to feel healthy on the wall and/or rock. The sky's the limit (but give yourself a rest day after)!

Mixed Climbing and Training
$90 CAD (Cash or E-transfer, sliding-scale)
This is a mixed session of both on and off-wall training and coaching. We will start by training on the wall and then move to the gym for some functional exercise and conditioning.
If this is a one-off session, we can focus on developing a well rounded regimen, that will help build a strong and functional body, depending on your needs and current physical fitness. If this is a series of sessions, we will focus on continuing to develop these things, while focussing on really diving deep into the needs of your body as it applies to climbing and your physical and mental wellbeing.
*depending on the approach, this can be either a single "one off" session, or a continuation of a series of sessions.

Off-Wall Training
$60/90 CAD for 1 or 2 hours (Cash or E-transfer, sliding-scale)
This session will primarily focus on developing functional, applicable exercises that can be used to improve your physical performance on the wall, unlocking better range of motion, strength, and body health.
If this is a one-off session, we can focus on developing a well rounded regimen, that will help build a strong and functional body, depending on your needs and current physical fitness. If this is a series of sessions, we will focus on continuing to develop these things, while focussing on really diving deep into the needs of your body as it applies to climbing and your physical wellbeing.

On-Wall Training

On-Wall training sessions will focus on exercises and practices to improve climbing technique and ability.
This session will focus on a wide ranging set of applications that impact your performance on the wall including things such as movement mechanics, route reading, and technical library development.

Remote Climbing Review

Outdoor Bouldering 101
$400 CAD (Cash or E-transfer)
This will be a comprehensive overview of outdoor bouldering. We will go to the crag, and I will introduce you the the common practices and considerations when bouldering outdoors, including safety, navigation, differences between outdoor and indoor, rock types and their impact, weather management, etc.
I will provide the pads and necessities for climbing. Please pack lots of water (at least 2 litres) and food, as well as sunscreen, and proper cover (hat, glasses, etc).
Expect to be out on the rock for 5-7 hours!
*general hiking shoes are recommended

General Fitness Training

This is a general fitness session in the gym. This session is designed for people looking for general fitness and physical wellbeing.
