Tom Lothian
I teach Mass Communications (MCOM) at Chabot College, and this is the place to book some one-on-one time with me.
Students are welcome to schedule time for office hours, assignment questions, reviewing work or getting additional feedback, course planning and selecting classes, career or media advice, personal or academic concerns, or just a general check-in.
When possible, please come with specific questions or work you’d like to discuss so we can make the best use of our time.
Not a current student? You’re still welcome to book a time if there’s something you’d like to talk about.
Phone Call
For simple questions or issues that are easiest to handle with a quick conversation. I’ll call you at the scheduled time, so please leave a phone number and a few words about what you’d like to discuss when you book.

Zoom Meeting
For conversations that benefit from meeting face-to-face or looking at something together—such as reviewing an assignment, getting detailed feedback, or discussing a more involved question. Please allow a few extra minutes to get set up and connected. I’ll email you the Zoom link before our meeting.

Meeting @ Spectator Office (Rm. 2325)
For a quick in-person meeting before or after class in the Spectator office, Room 2325. This is a shared lab space that may be open to other students, so it’s best for questions, feedback, and other conversations that don’t require much privacy. For sensitive or personal topics, please choose another meeting option.

Meeting @ Faculty Office (Rm. 1117)
For an in-person meeting in my faculty office, Room 1117. This is a better option for longer conversations, detailed feedback, academic or course planning, or personal and sensitive topics where a little more privacy is helpful.
