About the event
Maybe you want to create a unique holiday stocking... or you want to learn stranded colorwork or sock construction, just "bigger"? Then this class is for you!
This pattern is worked in the round, from the top down. It begins with a ribbed cuff, then a section of “doodle” colorwork, then a mock short row heel, before finishing with similar colorwork along the foot, and a traditional sock toe, closed with a Kitchener stitch graft. You can customize the ribbing, width, heel, and toe styles.
Class Structure
This class will meet for three weekly sessions, beginning on December 2nd, so you can have a stocking ready this winter.
- Session 1: Ribbing & Leg Design
Cast on your cuff, start working on the ribbing, and plan out your leg design. We’ll explore plenty of ideas for personalized details. - Session 2: The Heel & Foot Setup
Learn how to easily turn the heel, set up the foot section, learn to weave in ends cleanly, and craft a sturdy loop for hanging. - Session 3: The Toe & Finishing Touches
Shape and finish the toe, plus complete any final details so your stocking is ready for the mantel.
