A full repad or mechanical overhaul is a significant investment in your instrument's future. During this extended consultation, we will:

• Perform a complete "key-by-key" diagnostic.
• Discuss your goals (e.g., tone hole leveling, custom resonators, or spring tension preferences).
• Review material options (various pad types and cork styles).
• Provide a detailed, written quote and schedule your workshop slot.

Note: This service takes considerably longer then our normal services - please prepare for quite a few weeks turnaround as we fit these in-between our other services

1. Before You Arrive:

• Please ensure your instrument is in its case
• This includes mouthpiece and neck for saxophones and mouthpiece and barrels for clarinet

2. The Appointment (15-20 Mins):

• This slot is for a quick hands-on assessment. We will discuss the issues you're facing and I will provide an estimated cost and completion date.
• Expert Turnaround: For Overhauls/Dent work and other advanced work this will be longer than 2 weeks as it takes time to replace all the pads and materials and then a cycle of play testing then letting it sit over night a few times as this helps to 'break-in' the new pads and materials and get them working together nicely

3. Location & Parking:

• I am located 22a Vigor Brown Street, Napier
• We are the first house down the driveway - but please park on the road, there is lots of on-street parking

4. Changes/Cancellations:

• If you can’t make it, please use the "Reschedule" link in your email at least 3 hours prior. My schedule is quite tight, so I appreciate the heads-up!

If you are sending your instrument from outside Hawke's Bay for repairs or a service please follow these "Safe-Transit" steps to ensure it arrives in the same condition it left:

1. Internal Protection: Securely bubble wrap the saxophone body and the neck and mouthpiece separately inside your hard case. This prevents the pieces from knocking together during transit.
2. External Protection: Once the case is closed, bubble wrap the outside of the case entirely or use a cardboard box
3. Shipping Costs: Please note that return shipping costs will be calculated and included on your final invoice once the repair is complete.
4. Tracking: Please reply to your booking confirmation email with your tracking number once the package is on its way.

The most affordable way to ship your instrument to us is by using TradeMe's Book a courier option - You don't have to have sold something on TradeMe to use this service

We recommend either NZPost Courier or Aramex options

The Assessment (15-20 Mins):

• Once your instrument arrives - We will perform a hands-on assessment or your instrument. We will note recommended repairs/type of service and will provide an estimated cost and completion date - We will email you these details and get confirmation before proceeding
• Standard Turnaround: 3-5 business days depending on the size of the job
• Expert Turnaround: For Overhauls, Dent work and other advanced work this will be longer
