User booking limits let you cap the total number of bookings you accept across all your event types. Unlike event-type booking limits (configured in each event type’s limits tab), which apply to a single event type, user booking limits apply globally to every event type on your account. When your total bookings for a given period reach the limit, Cal.com automatically removes available slots for that period from all your booking pages.

When to use user booking limits

User booking limits are useful when you want to:
  • Cap total meetings per day regardless of event type (for example, no more than 5 meetings per day)
  • Limit weekly or monthly booking volume across your entire calendar
  • Prevent overbooking when you have many event types that share the same availability
Event-type limits and user booking limits work together. A slot is only shown if it satisfies both the event-type limit and your global user limit.

Configure user booking limits

1

Open your general settings

Go to Settings > My Account > General.
2

Enable booking limits

Find the Booking limits section and toggle it on.
3

Set your limits

Choose the time intervals you want to limit and enter the maximum number of bookings for each:
  • Per day - maximum bookings in a single day
  • Per week - maximum bookings in a calendar week
  • Per month - maximum bookings in a calendar month
  • Per year - maximum bookings in a calendar year
You can set limits for one or more intervals at the same time.
4

Save your changes

Click Save to apply the limits. They take effect immediately for all your event types.

How limits are enforced

Cal.com counts all your accepted bookings (across every event type) within the configured time window. When the count reaches your limit for a period, slots during that period are hidden from your booking pages. For example, if you set a limit of 3 bookings per day and already have 3 confirmed bookings on Tuesday, no slots are shown for Tuesday on any of your event types.
Cancelled bookings do not count toward your limits. Only accepted (confirmed) bookings are counted.

Interaction with event-type limits

If you configure both user booking limits and event-type booking limits, both are enforced. A time slot is only available when:
  1. The event-type limit for that specific event type has not been reached
  2. Your global user booking limit has not been reached
This means the more restrictive limit always wins. For example, if your user limit allows 5 bookings per day but a specific event type only allows 2 per day, that event type is capped at 2.

Set limits through the Cal.com assistant

If you belong to an organization, you can also ask the Cal.com assistant to set, change or remove your per-day, per-week, per-month and per-year limits, for example “no more than 4 bookings a day” or “remove my weekly limit”. The assistant shows each limit’s current and new value and waits for your approval before saving.
