Bookable meeting links that work with Signal

What is Signal?

Signal is the messaging app of choice for anyone who prioritizes security. All of Signal’s communications are encrypted. When using Signal, you don’t have to worry about ads, affiliate marketers, or any form of creepy, invasive tracking. This means you can communicate comfortably, knowing that only you and the person you’re directly contacting have access to the details of your correspondence. You can use Signal to share stories, and photos, text friends, and make crystal-clear voice and video calls over wi-fi. Also, as a bonus, Signal happens to be open source, which means that the sky’s the limit regarding the product's innovation and evolution.

Signal + Cal

Signal and Cal.com are two minimalistic open-source products that work well with each other. Cal.com is a white-label-friendly calendar scheduling product that facilitates in-person and virtual meetings. Cal.com has many features, including dynamic booking links, round-robin scheduling, and recurring events. Connecting Signal to your Cal.com account lets you designate Signal as a meeting location. This means you can combine Signal’s encrypted communication capabilities with Cal.com’s robust calendar scheduling infrastructure.

How to use Signal with Cal

  • Log in to your Cal.com account

  • Visit the Cal.com app store

  • Choose “Video” from the featured categories

  • Select Signal

  • Hit the install button

  • Go to the events section of your account

  • Choose or create a bookable event

  • Choose Signal as your meeting location

  • Paste your Signal link in the URL field

  • Hit the update button

  • Finally, select the save button

Once you have installed the app, you have the option of using sync-chat for meetings. This feature allows everything to occur via text rather than voice or video. This can be especially helpful if you are in a noisy environment or working from a location with limited internet access or speeds.

Using Signal with Cal.com is an effortless way to customize and extend the functionality of both products. Signal lets you communicate however you want or need to without worrying about a digital invasion of privacy. Cal.com takes care of the scheduling so you can focus on everything else.
