Cal.com v5.1

We’re excited to bring you the latest updates to Cal.com. But first, a huge thank you for your incredible feedback on our routing improvements and for making us #1 Product of the Day on Product Hunt! 🚀 Your support drives our growth and continuous improvement. Here’s what’s new this month:

Advanced Round-Robin fairness enhancements

Fair scheduling just got smarter! Previously, fairness in round-robin scheduling only worked for simple setups. Now, it fully supports routing and weighted distribution, giving teams greater flexibility in assigning meetings. This update also improves how pre-qualification filters are applied and adds a fallback mechanism to prevent "no availability" situations.

A new team setting now allows admins to customize the round-robin reset interval, choosing between daily or monthly resets. By default, the system resets every month, but teams needing a more dynamic rotation can now opt for a daily reset. These improvements ensure balanced workloads, smarter meeting distribution, and no lost booking opportunities due to availability gaps.

Enhanced Out-of-Office (OOO) management

Managing team availability is now easier with multiple improvements to Out-of-Office (OOO) functionality. Non-admin users can now view team OOO schedules in a read-only format, ensuring transparency while preventing accidental changes. Searching for OOO entries has also been improved, making it faster and more accurate to find team members' availability. Additionally, admins now have better tools to manage and update team OOO statuses, streamlining coordination for teams with dynamic schedules. These updates help teams stay informed and organized, reducing scheduling conflicts and improving overall efficiency.

Continued performance improvements

We're making Cal.com faster and more efficient with ongoing performance upgrades.

  •   The migration to App Router is nearly complete, allowing us to focus on caching and streaming optimizations to keep the app as snappy as ever.

  •   Our Next.js 15 upgrade is also in progress, bringing Turbopack for local development, already cutting startup times by 50%.

  •   Additionally, we've completed major refactors in both our App Store (now featuring 100+ apps) and dependency management, improving local dev speeds by up to 25%.

These efforts ensure a smoother, faster experience for all users and we don't stop here.
