Get startedAt Cal.com, we're passionate about simplification. We want our account holders to save time by using our product. This is one of the key reasons we offer multiple solutions that support automation. This includes features like our workflows, routing forms, and Cal.ai.
Using workflows takes the frustration out of managing reminders. It also simplifies administrative tasks related to onboarding. This is because you can create multiple workflows for a single event, and each one of these workflows can have a different action. You can have one workflow that reminds an attendee about the event an hour before, and you can have another that sends a link and instructions to where they can download documentation that needs to be signed.
Routing forms, on the other hand, cut down on client confusion by helping bookers find the exact individual and appointment type suited to their needs without having to reach out to customer service. However, in addition to these built-in features, Cal.com also offers time-saving enhancements via our app store. These are solutions that let users add a wide range of features to their calendar scheduling environment with just a few mouse clicks.
The automation section of Cal.com's app store contains a wide range of products. Some of these, like Make or Zapier, you might already know. However, you probably haven't heard of one of our latest additions, Autocheckin. This is a simple and straightforward product that helps you stay in touch with people by automating the booking process. Connecting this app to your account lets you add other Cal.com users to a contact list and specify how frequently you'd like to book a meeting with them. The app will automatically look at both your calendar and the other person's in order to book meetings on either a weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, or yearly basis based on your preferences.
Login to your Cal.com account
Select the "Apps" tab
Choose the automation category
Scroll until you see Autocheckin
Click on the details button
Click on the install app button
A new page will open up
You'll be prompted to sign in with a Google account
After doing this, a new page will load
You'll be asked to set your Cal.com API key
Doing this will create a webhook so that the app can react accordingly whenever you reschedule or cancel meetings.
Once you put in your API key, click confirm
You'll now see a button on the page that says "Create Contact"
Click on it in order to enter the details of the person who you'd like to schedule a meeting with
Once you've added their name and their Cal.com link to the form, you can select how often you'd like to meet with them.
Once this is done, simply click confirm, and the app will take care of the rest.
Installing this app is a very straightforward process. It involves a couple of steps, but as long as you know your way around your account settings, it can be accomplished in under 5 minutes.
In many ways, this app is similar to Cal.com's built-in recurring meeting feature. The main difference, however, is that recurring meetings occur on the exact same day/time up to a maximum of 20 times. Using this app instead randomizes when the meeting occurs and it doesn't have any upper limit.
This is great if you want to meet with someone more than 20 times in a row and you're not interested in booking a new recurring meeting with them after hitting the upper limit.
This is also nice if you want to add a little bit of carefully controlled unpredictability to your schedule. If you found this blog post interesting and you'd like to learn more about apps available to Cal.com users, please visit our blog and click on the apps category. As always, happy scheduling.
