Changelog: Cal.com v6.8 - Cal Events, New troubleshooter, AI chat in routing forms & more

Hello, welcome to this month’s feature update! This month, we’ve focused on a few key areas to improve your experience:

Cal.com v6.8
Cal.com v6.8

Cal.com Events

We're extremely excited to prelaunch Cal.com Events, the place for you to host any event.  You can sell tickets, upload a guestlist, change RSVP settings and manage guests.

Turn on payments for an event, set a price, and the RSVP flow becomes a checkout: a guest picks a spot, we hold the seat, and it becomes a confirmed registration once Cal Pay confirms the payment.

If they never finish paying, the hold expires on the deadline you set and the spot goes back into the pool, so nothing stays reserved by someone who wandered off. There's no App Store trip either, your Cal Pay account is provisioned the first time you save a paid event.

Refunds go in every direction you'd expect: remove an attendee and their payment is refunded, cancel the event and it fans out to everyone who paid, and a payment that lands after the event is gone is refunded automatically. Guests get pay links, receipts and ticket confirmations along the way, and the pay link is delayed on purpose so fast payers never get a reminder for something they already paid.

New availability troubleshooter

The availability troubleshooter has been rebuilt to answer the question people actually bring to it: why can't this slot be booked?

Every blocked slot now explains itself, a busy calendar event, an out-of-office day, a booking limit, a minimum notice window or a buffer on a neighbouring booking, and where we can, the exact setting you'd change to fix it.

When several things overlap we rank them by blast radius, so the change that frees up the most slots comes first.

There's also a new month view with day drill-in next to the column view, so you can spot a bad week at a glance and then dig into a single day. Fully booked days stay selectable, because that's usually the day you want to inspect.

Our job is to help you, help yourself.

AI chat in routing forms

Building a routing form used to mean assembling fields, routes and fallbacks by hand. Now you can describe it instead.

Choose to build with AI and the assistant drafts the fields and the routing logic from your description, then you keep chatting to refine it, add a question, change where a segment goes, tighten a fallback.

It knows your setup rather than guessing at it: the agent reads your organization's attributes so its routes reference the ones you actually use, and it can create a new attribute when your description needs one that doesn't exist yet.

Its drafts stay separate from the live form until you're happy, it works on existing forms from the editor too, and your chat history survives a reload. Combined with dry runs, you can build a route, test it and see exactly where a submission lands before a single lead touches it.

Features & improvements

We've built a new canvas workflow editor with conditional paths, so you can lay out a workflow visually and branch it based on what happened with the booking (behind a flag while we roll it out).

  • We've made round-robin reassignment far more flexible: attendees can now pick a different host when they reschedule, and you can manually reassign bookings that already happened.

  • We've added a BOOKING_REASSIGNED webhook for both round-robin and collective host replacement, plus a booking-location-update webhook and ICS calendar content in the booking lifecycle payloads.

  • We've added a recording and transcription consent dialog to Cal Video, and you can now gate a Cal Video room behind a join window so nobody wanders in hours early.

  • We've given out-of-office its own analytics page in Insights, and added cancelledBy and rescheduledBy to the bookings CSV export.

  • We've added per-event-type banner images with an organization-wide fallback, plus a corner style option so booking pages can match your brand's sharpness.

  • We've shipped a self-serve organization downgrade wizard, with a preview of what changes before you commit, and clean handling of subdomains and redirects on the way out.

  • We've added SCIM-only member invites for organizations that want provisioning to be the single source of truth, and an opt-in that lets members be booked without email verification.

  • We've expanded API v2 with endpoints for user-owned workflows, a skipBookingLimits flag for authorized hosts, and delegation credential rotation opt-out and reset.

  • We've rebuilt every transactional email — scheduling, billing, auth, teams and organizations — on our new card layout, so what lands in your inbox matches the app

Fixes

  • We now round slot starts up to the minute, so a minimum notice period can never be undercut by a few seconds.

  • We report before and after booking buffers as busy ranges of their own, so buffered time is consistently unavailable everywhere availability is computed.

  • We fixed two date-math edge cases: the last day of a requested window that crosses a DST transition is no longer dropped, and a next-day unavailable override survives an over-midnight range.

  • We now cancel the remaining bookings of a recurring series when recurrence is turned off on the event type, instead of leaving orphaned occurrences behind.

  • We fixed team admins being unable to cancel or reschedule their team members' bookings.

  • We stopped bookings that require confirmation from being cancelled automatically, and corrected the reschedule email content for them.

  • We fixed round-robin reassignment dropping the attendee's chosen location, and made managed event reassignment honour the new host's calendar busy times.

  • We now persist the new MS Teams URL when a booking is rescheduled at the same location, and offer Microsoft Teams consent after SSO signup.

  • We fixed several seated-event gaps: every paid seat is refunded on cancellation, seated booking notes reach host notification emails, and the first seat keeps its confirmation email.

  • We hardened permissions and input handling across the app
